Hackathon #2 Begins: New Ideas, New Voices

It’s official—Pebble’s FrostByte Hacks is now live.

Over the next two weeks, students from across the world will be building projects that tackle real problems through code. Whether it’s health, climate, education, or equity, the goal is the same: create something that matters.

This time around, we’ve added more ways to get involved and more support to help teams succeed:

  • New tracks to help focus your ideas, whether you’re working on social impact, accessibility, or community tools
  • More mentors, including developers, designers, and previous winners, available for questions and feedback
  • Beginner-friendly tools and starter guides for students building their very first project
  • Updated judging criteria that reward clear logic and real effort—not just fancy UI

The energy on Discord is already strong. Teams are forming. Ideas are flying. People are helping each other troubleshoot within minutes of meeting.

If you’re still figuring out what to build, don’t stress. Start small. Choose a problem you care about, and work toward something simple and useful. That’s what this space is for.

And if you’re feeling stuck or unsure, reach out. Mentors are here to help, and your questions are welcome.

We’re excited to see what you build—big or small, polished or messy. Every project adds something to this community.

Let’s make this a space for bold ideas, thoughtful code, and real collaboration.

Good luck, builders.
