Scaling Up: From 200 Students to 2000

We started Pebble with one club and a simple idea: make technical learning feel approachable. That idea has reached over 200 students across 10 chapters. Now, we’re setting our sights higher—2000 students by the end of next year.

This isn’t just about growth. It’s about building something that lasts. That starts with strong local chapters, and we’ve seen how powerful those can be. At a school in Texas, students ran a hands-on bootcamp for middle schoolers. In New Jersey, one chapter launched its own peer-mentoring series. In California, they organized a mini design challenge open to the whole district. These clubs aren’t just running—they’re inventing.

To scale, we’re investing in a few things. First, we’re building a better onboarding path for new chapters. It’ll include a clear startup guide, leadership templates, and curated project libraries. Second, we’re training more student mentors who can support across time zones and school types. We want a network that helps clubs solve problems faster—and learn from each other.

Our YouTube courses will also play a bigger role. They’re open to anyone, and we’re designing them to work alongside club meetings. The idea is simple: clubs bring the people, and courses support the teaching.

But the biggest change is this: we’re handing more over to students. The chapters that thrive most are the ones where leaders take initiative. So we’re focusing more on systems that support student ownership—tools, structure, and just enough guidance to keep things moving.

If you’re interested in starting a chapter, reach out. You don’t need a full team or a big school. You just need a few people who care, and a reason to get started.
